The Leaf Spy Pro application offers Nissan Leaf electric vehicle owners with an iOS 7.1+ device and the LELink Bluetooth 4.x LE OBDII adapter or a WiFi OBDII adapter the ability to monitor their battery and other vehicle information that is typically only accessible to the dealer. The app supports both English and Japanese languages.

It is important to note that the iPhone 4 and early iPads (2nd Gen) do not support Bluetooth 4.0 LE. Additionally, the application now supports the new 2018 Leaf model.

Key information displayed by Leaf Spy Pro includes:

• Voltage of each of the 96 cell pairs, with shunt activity highlighted
• Minimum, average, and maximum cell pair voltages
• Histogram of cell pair voltages
• Battery temperature readings (with 4 sensors for 2011/12 models and 3 sensors for 2013 models)
• Battery AHr rating, which decreases with age and indicates remaining capacity
• Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
• Odometer reading in miles or kilometers
• Number of Quick Charge connections
• Number of L1/L2 Charge connections
• EVSE Max available amps
• EVSE voltage
• Battery energy level in GIDs & kWh
• Resettable energy usage meter with Wh resolution
• Graphic display of State of Charge (SOC), GIDs, and Distance to Empty (DTE)
• Remaining distance meter in miles/kilometers to various battery warning events (Low Battery Warning, Very Low Battery Warning, or Reserve) based on user-selected energy efficiency
• Graphic display of battery temperature with minimum, average, and maximum temperatures
• Tire Pressure of each of the four tires with low pressure warning and delta pressure warning alarm (not supported on 2018 Leaf)
• Ambient Temperature
• Displays climate control settings and power usage
• Trip and Charge Log
• Logging function that records most data and optional GPS location to a CSV file that can be easily imported into Excel
• Dropbox support to sync Log files
• Ability to run in the background while connected to the Leaf

Additionally, LeafSpy Pro allows users to perform functions that typically require a visit to the dealer:

• Change automatic door lock/unlock settings
• Change VSP sound settings on 2013 and newer Leafs
• Read Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)
• Register Tire Positions, which is required after tire rotation or seasonal tire changes so your Leaf knows the correct location of each tire on the car
• Ability to reset DTCs from selected ECUs

Please note that when using the app in background mode with GPS enabled continuously, it may significantly decrease battery life.
